Waiting for Planting Season…

It’s officially Spring!!! I don’t know about you but I have such a hard time waiting for planting season once the warmer weather gets here. Every year I start my mantra, “Wait for Mother’s Day, wait for Mother’s Day…” Then the stores bring out the spring bulbs and seed packets. “Wait for Mother’s Day!” Easter decorations appear along with hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips in pretty colored pots. “Wait for Mother’s Day!!” All of the new gardening tools appear and the garden sections open in all of the home improvement stores. “WAIT FOR MOTHER’S DAY!!!” I feel like a little girl standing in front of the penny candy store window and my resolve to wait dwindles. Not this year!!!

This year I have a new plan! I am going to use the warmer weather to decorate the side of my garage! That garage wall is what I see when I wash my dishes. We have all of these wonderful items at the store to make my plain garage wall into a wonderful rustic scene. I can use the days until planting season to plan and collect the items I need to create the area I want. I am using the following pictures to inspire my plan:

I am going to get through this warmer weather without buying and planting too early! I will post a picture when my project is done. We hope to see you in the store looking for items for your decorating projects too! We can do this! We can wait for Mother’s Day!

Happy Spring!

Spring is getting ready to Spring!

It has been super cold here in Colorado, and I for one am happy that spring is on the way! I am ok with the snow, but we have had a lot with really cold temps!

Driving to work the last couple of days I noticed that the cows in the area are having their babies! oh, how I love babies! Birds are building nests and laying eggs. Eagle cam are online, eggs are laid, and soon we’ll get to watch them grow like weeds!

Last year we sold all of our ewes and lambs. I am going to miss the babies this spring, but I have not missed feeding in this cold. Yep, I am a wimp! ;0 Won’t be till fall before we have another baby on the place when John’s cow gives birth.

Ziggy is growing like a weed, and love going to work with Winston and mom.

I hope you guys feel inspired to to spend a few minutes a day just enjoying life around you! Spring is almost here and we’ll have lots of color with the leaves on trees, and flowers a bloomin.

Thanks for stopping by today, and every day to see what we’re up to!

Have an awesome week.

Good Tuesday Morning

I hope you’re all doing well. We have lots of cold and snow again in Colorado. This time no snow at the house when I left, but lots at the store. Won’t be long before the snow plows come by throwing snow and ice all over the front of the store. Guess the dirty windows will wait a while longer! 🙂

New treasures are coming to the store, and things are changing again. I am so excited about some of the stuff, that I keep touching thinking, maybe I should just take a couple home! 🙂

And then a pair of boston terrier salt & pepper shakers show up, and an adorable pair of deer salt and pepper shakers come in – you guessed it. They didn’t make it to the store floor, and yes I am taking them home!

Spring is on my brain so keep an eye out of new planters and planter ideas coming your way.

Hope you all have an awesome week!

Nancie, Winston & Ziggy

Changes @ The Dumdi Ranch

A lot of changes are going on at the Dumdi Ranch recently.

John heads off to his first year of college – yes I did say college. I would like to know where the last 18 years have gone. I am very proud of the young man he has become and look forward to seeing what the future holds for him.

3 of the 5 horses at the ranch will be headed to Snyder Texas tomorrow with John tomorrow morning.

All of the steers & bull have gone to new homes, as well as the sheep. We still have the cow & heifer calf though. Ginger is still happy hanging around, and the dogs and cats!

WOW ~ feeding will take a lot less time now 🙂

Have an awesome day and we will talk more soon!

Closed on Tuesday Aug 14th & Wed Aug 15th Announcement

I am sorry for the late announcement of our closure on Tuesday August 14th and Wednesday August 15th.

There has been a couple of staff changes, and unfortunately I don’t have someone to work for me while I head to drop off my youngest at college this week.

We will be open our new regular hours again on Thursday August 16th.

Sorry for any inconvenience this will cause our customers.

Have an awesome week!!

Winston

Everyone that sees Winston in the store just adores him, so I thought that I would start to share adorable (I think anyway) pics of him!

Story on this pic – we were camping and he wasn’t ready to go back to camp, so he decided that if he turned his back on me, he couldn’t hear me! Silly dog!

Have an awesome day, and more soon!
