Adding Color to the Kitchen with Plants

This is our first installment of our new “Adding Color Series” ~ “Adding Color to the Kitchen” (which by the way, will be more than one post).

In the past I have shared creative ideas here & there, but this time I am going a little further.

I am going to give you some creative ways to add color and mix things you would never think of!

A lot of us has some of grandma’s china, and we don’t use it, but sometimes we want to have a piece or two out to look at. This is a gorgeous piece that we have turned into a planter. This is so pretty that you could put it any where in the house!

Don’t have grandma’s china, but you love the sifter you two used while baking. How about the violet planted in grandma’s sifter?

Maybe we are a little more retro feeling ~ how about using an vintage bread tin.

All of these ideas will look awesome sitting on your kitchen counter, on your Hoosier, on top of your kitchen cabinets, or on top of your frig! Don’t forget to share pics with us!

Have a great day, and check back soon for our next installment of adding color to the kitchen!

Adding Color while Spring Cleaning

Spring is in the air, and all of us are ready to add color and change things up a little after the long and cold winter.

I am creating a series of blog posts that are sure to inspire you with ideas for creative and  inexpensive ways to change things up at the house with color, unique & recycled finds while you’re spring cleaning. In this series we’ll focus on one room at a time until you have added lots of new color around the house

We all have different styles and preferences without a lot of time. I LOVE retro & mid-century mixed with my rustic primitives. I am sure that you’re like the rest of us and don’t have a lot of time for up keep. My plan is to share ideas that won’t take a lot of time, and or up keep, and everyone will find something that will inspire them!

Each week will feature one room in the house until we get through kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, living room, bedroom, porch & garden.

Our first stop is the kitchen! Stay tuned!
